Indian Head Massage

During hard times like this, we are often kept occupied and under the stress of all the things happening around us. Stress can lead to many different symptoms that show up in our bodies in the form of restless nights, busy thoughts, aches, pains, lack of mobility, and even the inability to sit back and rest. Your upper body is a very popular area to hold a lot of tension, naturally finding that many stresses and worries tend to manifest in tight muscles or any form of ache or pain. If any of these symptoms sound familiar to you then maybe you need to take a step back, when was the last time you had an Indian Head Massage? Maybe it’s time to release that stress through some relaxing massages and calming music.

So what is an Indian head massage?

An Indian head massage is not just a regular back or head therapy, I have found over the years of offering this form of massage that most people think that all you get is a simple head massage but it is so much more than just that! As the name suggests, Indian head massages are a beautiful traditional practice that originated from India but is now frequently practiced amongst Western Cultures. It is based on the ancient Indian healing system called Ayurveda, or more commonly known as the science of life. This is a form of massage that has been handed down over many generations in Indian cultures for thousands of years. It focuses on the three higher “chakras”: the mind, body, and spirit which hits your energy epicenter.

Why should you get an Indian Head Massage?

An Indian head massage is an alternative massage that focuses on the entire central nervous system in the upper body such as the back, shoulders, neck, head, and face. It is an uplifting, relaxing, and refreshing therapeutic method that’s aim is to realize and release any stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles, and joints of the upper body, leaving a feeling of increased energy, better concentration, and rejuvenation. In this massage, I use a combination of techniques and rhythms, which can include deep kneading, compression movements and, gentle strokes, to stimulate the soft tissues in the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp, and face, this is especially good at targeting and reducing the tension we carry around these areas. The Indian head massage has been said by many of my clients to be an ideal massage for those who suffer from:

  • Aching shoulders
  • Tight neck
  • Sore eyes
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Insomnia or irregular sleep patterns
  • Poor concentration
  • Hair loss

What to expect on the day!

You will remain fully clothed during the massage, put on some comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to ensure you don’t feel any form of restriction or discomfort. Remove any hair bands, clips, or hair ties before you go in and let yourself feel free. Once you enter the room, you can leave all your stress and worries behind, laying down into the bed, sinking deeper and deeper into a sense of relaxation. This is a space where you can be freed from all your tension and concerns, all you need to do is book your spot.
